Jacques Cousteau named them "The Mexican Galapagos Island"  and  gave the oceans the title of "The largest living aquarium of the world" those expressions give us an idea of the diversity, uniqueness and beauty of this region, the early time explorers and missionaries named it "the other Mexico", it was a territory until 1972, here there is no agriculture, no cattle raising, no commercial fishing only tourism, it is like to live in an island, totally different to other parts of Mexico,  come discover how people and wildlife had adapted to live in this environment.

 

We will see the three species of endemic land birds; Grey Thrasher is common throughout in desert scrub, as is the little Xantus's Hummingbird, although Belding's Yellowthroat is not widespread but is expected to be found in remnant marsh habitats.  Birding opportunities promise

an array of seabirds, shorebirds, and land birds including Least Grebe, Neotropic Cormorant, both Brown and Blue-footed boobies, Magnificent Frigatebird, ten species of herons including Reddish Egret, White Ibis. We will make special efforts to see cetaceans and whale watching over boat trips,  with the hope of encountering grey, humpback, long-fin pilot, blue and orca whales, not to mention enjoying sightings of whale-sharks, rays, sea-lions, as well as a couple of visits and get involved on the release of sea turtles. We will admire the beauty of unique cactus, agaves and other succulent plants, with breath-taking landscapes, sunrises and sunsets, framed by the ocean.  Summarizing, we will experience "The Peninsula Indomitable" or "The Untamed Peninsula", just two descriptions of how explorers have described this remote place, an area attracting nature lovers by its fabulous natural values. you will be lead and receive personal attention by Experienced Biologist, and birders with large experience, certified and bilingual,  this exciting tour, which promises to be both productive and enjoyable. Even non-birding partners will love it!

Program Begins in Los Cabos  Day #1

Pleas fly in the International airport of Los cabos (SJD)

Please Fly out via San Diego  airport (SAN)  or Tijuana Airport ( TIJ)

Day 1:

Arrivals - Visitors must Be in Los cabos a day prior to begin program. Welcome to Baja California, considered by Historians the other Mexico. You will be greeted with a welcome cocktail & dinner to mingle and set up the tone of Adventure.

Day 2:  

Enjoy a beautiful sunrise  birding in search of endemics yellowthroath, gray thrasher, Xantus Humingbird and enjoy whale- watching, and  some more intersting birds and marine life also visit and old village.

Birding & Bay tour, mangroves, sandunes (feb & march enjoy whale-watching at sanctuary of whales).

The cradle of las Californias,  Enjoy Birding & snorkel, visit Oldest mission of las Californias  & and more surprises.

Step Back in time and visit a majestic art-rock painted 7000 years ago , admire beauty of oasis , visit one of the most well preserved  art rock & environment.

Day 7:

Enjoy The largest salt mine by evaporation in the american continent, Bird sanctuary , including the endemic Vizcaino thrasher , big horn-sheep  and more surprises.

Visit an oysters camp,  Sea-lion colony , mangrove, and other attractions.

Day 9:

Wine & cheese tour, Learn the history of winery, & farewell dinner.
